Other Information:

Attorney Odom is originally from Meridian, Mississippi, where he was born and raised, and where much of his family still resides. After high school, he obtained a bachelors degree in business administration and finance from Mississippi State University. Attorney Odom graduated law school from The University of Alabama School of Law.

After law school, Chris Odom co-founded what originally began as a two-lawyer firm, Pepper & Odom, P.C., with his law partner, Everett Pepper. The two lawyers put their minds together, combined their efforts and worked extraordinarily hard until the firm became a success. The two have since successfully grown the law firm into multiple locations, including Jackson, Mississippi and Birmingham, Alabama, employing numerous staff and attorneys between both locations. Chris attributes a lot of the firm’s success to putting clients and the people who work with you first and overall making sure that you the firm is serving people above all. Chris takes pride in the fact that the firm is committed to  each and every client as well as having a personal relationship with each of them. The firm continues to thrive primarily on these same values, the support of friends, family, clients and the hard work and dedication of the firm’s highly skilled staff and attorneys.

As a partner at the law firm of Pepper & Odom, P.C., Chris practices law almost exclusively on behalf of victims of wrongdoing. Throughout his career, he has successfully tried and won numerous cases, as well as successfully reaching thousands of settlements. Chris’s work has truly had a direct and positive impact on so many people’s lives, and continues to help make our communities a better,  safer and fairer community for everyone.

As a trial lawyer, Chris has won multiple awards and nominations as one of the National Trial Lawyers Top 100 Trial Lawyers, National Academy of Personal Injury Attorneys as well as the National Trial Lawyers Top 40 Under 40.

In addition to being a lawyer, Chris is actively involved in Church, the community and volunteering. Chris is married to Amber Burkett Odom. They live in the Ross Bridge neighborhood of Birmingham, Alabama with their two dogs, Emmy and Bentley. The two ended up in this neighborhood by chance after Chris proposed to her around the holidays on the side of a horse and carriage at a Resort near the neighborhood, after which the two went for a carriage ride in the neighborhood looking at the holiday lights.

Attorney Christopher D. Odom won scholarships and graduated with a 4.0 from Mississippi State University’s School of Business, Banking and Finance. While in law school, Chris skyrocketed to the top of his law class in his first year by:

  • Achieving Dean’s List Every Semester;
  • Winning awards for writing the Best Paper in the class;
  • Writing/Grading onto the Law Review; and
  • Winning scholastic scholarships to pay for law school tuition.

Following his first year, Chris continued to surpass competition by:

  • Writing/Grading onto the Law Review for The Journal of The Legal Profession at The University of Alabama School of Law;
  • Winning awards for writing the Best Paper in the class;
  • Invested an entire year in law school donating time to Pro Bono law clinic for indigent people; and
  • Top class ranking upon graduation

Attorney Odom has spent a lot of time on lawsuits involving accidents and injuries on offshore oil rigs, accidents on ocean or river boats (vessels), barges (river or otherwise), cruise ship accidents, transportation vessel accidents porting in Mobile, AL, porting in Mississippi, New Orleans, Louisiana or Houston. Because Chris has always had quite a few family members who work offshore on oil rigs and vessels, he has spent a lot of time focusing on the representation of oil field and pipe line workers who travel from one state such as Alabama or Mississippi to another state such as Louisiana to board a vessel or fly out to an oil platform.
