Hinds County District Attorney Robert Shuler Smith was arrested Wednesday.
Smith is accused in a six-count affidavit with providing information to assist criminal defendants. The charges were filed by the state attorney general’s office, who Smith has accused of conspiring against him.
Smith, who is serving his third term as district attorney, couldn’t be reached for comment.
